Lorain County
Children and Families First Council

Lorain County CFFC is a partnership of state and local government, communities, and families that enhances the well-being of Ohio’s children and families by building community capacity, coordinating systems and services, and engaging families.

Coordinating Systems and Services

System Coordination involves bringing individuals and agencies together to collaborate on planning, strategizing, prioritizing, finding solutions, and monitoring to ensure that services are easily accessible.

Building Community Capacity

In order to strengthen community resources, it is important to involve communities in recognizing and meeting the continuous needs of children and families. This involves creating plans, putting effective strategies into action, keeping track of progress, and evaluating outcomes to ensure desired goals are being met.

Engaging and Empowering Families

We help parents become active members, participate in important decision-making processes, and advocate for children, families, and communities.

Shared Accountability

In order to achieve Shared Accountability, the other three core functions must be in operation: involving and empowering families, enhancing community capacity, and coordinating systems and services.

Building Blocks

Our Mission

Our mission is to advocate for families by establishing and maintaining systems of service that nurture, enrich, and encourage collaboration between individuals and organizations to promote the well-being of children and families in Lorain County.
