We are a small staff working on the macro, mezzo, and micro levels across the county! Our goal is to help break barriers and improve services throughout our local communities. Our team is comprised of a variety of professional backgrounds and strong advocates for Lorain County!

Minds Behind "LCCFFC" Walls

Our staff is made up of professionals from many different backgrounds. These different perspectives help us come up with creative solutions to the needs of the families we serve in Lorain County. The Service Coordinators who work directly in the community have been trained in the Wraparound model and are experienced in implementing it with families throughout the county.

Director Freeman is a devoted Lorain County community member. Her entire professional career has been within the county. She is well known for her ability to advocate for the families she represents.

She is the proud mother of four boys and is raising them here in the county. She is often seen at Lakeview Beach, Elyria Catholic sporting events, and spending time with her family!

Yacylin has worked in the finance department with the Children and Families First Council since November 2017, prior to that she worked at the Justice Center as a deputy clerk.

Yacylin reports that "Children and Families First Council has taught me many things, but one of them is the dedication and passion my colleagues have while working with families helping them to get the resources that they need. Hearing their success stories is a wonderful thing."

Yacylin's job is to manage the accounts and payments. As well as administrative tasks within the department. She enjoys being in the community for events and learning how she can more efficiently improve systems to better the agency. Yacylin holds a Bachelor's degree in Administration and Finance and is Bi Lingual.

For as long as he can remember, Jon has been driven by a desire to help others. From standing up to bullies in grade school to nurturing his own children as a stay-at-home dad, and guiding students as a teacher, Jon has consistently supported those around him. With patience, empathy, and a keen ability to listen, he is dedicated to helping others become the version of themselves they desire. Jon has been making a difference in the lives of families throughout Lorain County since 2022.

Kristen has been a Family Service Coordinator since December of 2023. She is a licensed social worker with a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from Cleveland State University. She is currently working towards a project management certification. Kristen has a history of working in child welfare and juvenile justice.

Tammy has recently joined LCCFFC and already recognizes the positive impact they have on the families in the community. She takes care of many administrative duties on a daily basis and loves attending family events to interact with the public and families. Tammy has lived in Lorain County for two years. In her free time, she enjoys fishing on Lake Erie with her husband and spending quality time with her three children.
