Since 1993, County Family and Children First Councils (FCFCs) have been required by law to create and implement a process that evaluates and prioritizes services for families and children. They must also address service gaps and come up with new strategies to improve outcomes.
The Ohio Family and Children First (OFCF) provides guidance to help local FCFCs develop a shared plan using the Collective Impact approach. FCFCs must submit their Shared Plan Update to OFCF every year.
The shared planning process follows a three-year cycle. FCFCs will monitor their shared plan, report progress towards achieving goals, and update the plan annually. After three years, a new shared plan will be developed.
